Target Ad
Art Direction
Project Information
For this project, I was assigned a random product to then concept, write, design, and produce a print color magazine ad along with a digital web banner ad for the Target brand. After researching and creating an art direction for my product I worked directly with professional photographer, CJ Foeckler, to produce images that fit my vision and also aligned with the target brand standards.
With my product being a pack of silly scented Crayola colored pencils, I knew I wanted to emphasize the fact that they had a differentiating feature compared to regular colored pencils. I also wanted to maintain a fun, playful, and bright look to target the intended juvenile audience. I chose to carefully spread out items that had corresponding scents as if they were exploding from their designated pencils. To give the sweets some extra context I placed them on ruled paper as if they were drawn on. I then made use of playful alliteration for my headline to keep the tone light.
