Colour Palate

Existing Brand Standards Re-Brand

Project Information

The Colour Palate is and existing fresh food and salad company based in Milwaukee, WI. Their existing brand consisted of the combined idea of the bright colors and artistry of fresh foods and the way they taste on your palate. Some of their brand values exist as mindful, fresh, colorful, and real.

Stemming from my Identity Design Class the objective of this project was to find an existing brand and redesign their visual presence and create a set of brand standard for them. After the brainstorming process I had developed a set of black and white logos including a word mark, letter mark, pictorial mark, emblem, and lockup, before adding color to them.

From the already established form and colors we were then pushed to create a letterhead, envelope, and business card and then translate those standard to a Social Media Avatar and presence and then a miscellaneous Item that made sense for the brand. I ended up choosing to create an apron that staff would likely wear.

After we had unknowingly created a set of brand standard that translated to each facet of the project the next step was to vocalize those ideas and communicate them in a brand standards booklet. While using those standards to create the book itself, I also had to fully think about how to standardize the ideas in a way that others could fully understand and recreate while also fitting into cohesive brand image.
