Contraceptive Emojis

The intention of this project was to create complimenting emojis that could be widely used but doesn't currently exist to further develop adobe illustrator skills. With sex still being a fairly taboo while also a common topic in the digital realm, there aren't any emoji's that could be used to convey that idea other than fruits and vegetables that  stand as innuendoes. Since it's often an inevitable conversation point, why not normalize it in a way that pictures it in a safe and healthy way?

I took inspiration from the already existing emoji styles and applied it my chosen objects. I used various shaped gradients and layers of translucent shapes to create the illusion of light and form. I used this same technique to create various textures that promote realism while applying symbolic colors in a bright and fun manner that is typically seen in existing styles.
